Advanced Onion Storage Facility with Dual-Purpose Climate-Control Technology

Objective

Develop a long-term onion storage system capable of preserving quality and marketability through June.
Design chambers that can optionally be used for storing the company’s own frozen meat products, ensuring multi-purpose functionality.
Create a specialized storage technology for onions sourced from import suppliers, with a focus on stabilizing quality during cross-border logistics.

Solution

To ensure optimal long-term storage conditions and maximize flexibility of use, the following technological components were implemented:

Aspiration-based ventilation system ensuring efficient and uniform airflow throughout the storage volume
Final-drying system for onions, equipped with electric air heaters to stabilize moisture content prior to storage
Rotary compressors with a boiling-pressure maintenance system, enabling stable performance in low-temperature operation
Automated CO₂ management functioning independently of the main ventilation system, allowing precise control even when airflow is limited
Two storage chambers integrated into a centralized automation platform, supporting remote control, continuous monitoring, and fully automated climate adjustments

This configuration ensures stable operation in hot, humid, and variable climates typical of India, Africa, the Middle East, and Gulf countries, while also enabling rapid shifts between onion storage and frozen-product storage as needed.
