High-Efficiency Potato Storage Facility with Unified Microclimate Control System
Objective
-
Adapt the storage design to challenging climatic conditions.
-
Maximize usable storage space.
-
Implement a single automated microclimate-control system capable of maintaining precise temperature and humidity levels across two independent storage zones.
Solution
A system of underground air-distribution ducts was implemented to increase usable space while ensuring efficient airflow throughout the facility.
A modern, integrated microclimate-control platform enables precise management of temperature, humidity, air exchange, and CO₂ removal in all chambers using a single controller.
This approach ensures stable conditions for long-term potato storage, even in regions with hot, humid, or highly variable climates - common across India, the Middle East, and Africa.
Key Features & Project Workflow
-
Engineering and project development
-
Procurement of materials and equipment
-
Logistics and delivery
-
Installation of ventilation and microclimate systems
-
Start-up, testing, and fine-tuning of the equipment
The project was executed by Agrovent’s design engineers, construction team, and microclimate-control specialists.
The use of an underground-duct system not only increased the effective storage volume, but also improved accessibility for equipment maintenance and ensured an optimal, uniform airflow pattern across both storage zones.
