Development of a storage system for table and seed potatoes in frameless buildings (20 000 tons).
“Grekhov” Family Farm is a major potato producer in Kurgan Region.
To create a system for the bulk storage of potatoes from August to May.
The potatoes must preserve their marketability qualities for the entire storage period.
Since frameless vegetable-storage buildings are extremely popular and common in Russia, the client decided to implement the microclimate system in this type of structure. In these semi-circular hangars, ventilation is only installed in the walls of the abutting ends.
A perforated air-circuit system was used.
The “ORION” automatic-control system was designed specifically for vegetable-storage facilities. Remote monitoring and control is an option.
Operational stages:
In collaboration with the construction company, the project was worked on by a number of Agrovent specialists: design engineers, the construction department, and specialists in the area of ventilation equipment.
Insofar as the project was implemented in stages, it was important to work out an automated-control system that could manage operations in several sections.
The project was implemented from scratch in 2015. In 2017, the farm’s potato-production area spanned 600 ha. In 2018, the farm is planning to expand its storage areas using Agrovent technologies and equipment.
