It’s a rectangular building conveniently laid out in terms of logistics, and includes containers for the long-term storage of fruit and vegetables. Storage capacity is determined by the rules of the local area, while container capacity is determined by the needs of property tenants. The most common container capacities are 500, 700 or 1000 tons. Bulk storage is not considered in this case, due to the inconvenience of dispatching produce for storage. On average, fruit-storage capacity (mainly for apples) is about 100-150 tons per container. Storage rooms should be designed with the capability of intaking air from the outside.
