Development of a microclimate system for a potato storage (6000 tons).

Client

“Bykov” Family Farm is a potato producer.

Objective

To create a system for the bulk storage of potatoes in a frameless building.

To use front walls for the installation of intake-exhaust valves.

To develop a system for the automatic control of temperature and humidity in different storage conditions.

Solution

We used a perforated air-circuit system.

Due to the use of atypical exhaust valves, it became possible to enlarge the storage space.

The high-pressure humidification system decreased the drying of the crops.

The “ORION” automatic-control system was designed specifically for vegetable-storage facilities. Remote monitoring and control is an option.

Distinguishing features

Operational stages:

  • Project development
  • Purchase of equipment and materials
  • Delivery
  • Installation
  • Start-up and adjustment operations

Design engineers and the construction department were in charge of the project, as well as Agrovent specialists in the area of ventilation equipment.

Over the course of four years, Agrovent has collaborated with “Bykov” Family Farm in implementing five potato-storage projects in frameless buildings. Our cooperation is ongoing.
